Bradley Track Returns from Holiday Break Saturday

The Bradley track and field teams are back in action for the first time in more than a month, competing at Eastern Illinois' John Craft Invitational on Saturday.

MEET INFO
Bradley begins action at the John Craft Invitational on Saturday morning with the long jump kicking things off at 11 a.m. Track events begin at 12:30 p.m. on the campus of Eastern Illinois.

Other Division I schools slated to compete over the weekend include the host Panthers, Evansville, Murray State, Saint Louis, SIU Edwardsville and Tennessee Martin.

EIU EARLY BIRD INVITE RECAP
When we last saw the Braves in action, the team set a number of top-10 marks at the EIU Early Bird Invite on Dec. 6.

Hannah Ivy and Keina Suggs both posted top-10 times in the 60m and 200m dashes as Ivy posted the sixth-best time in the 60m and eighth-best mark in the 200m with Suggs finishing seventh and 10th, respectively.

Soren Umali also improved her time in the 60m hurdles and ranks sixth, while Laura Stuart added the seventh-best mark in the long jump.

2019 INDOOR RECAP
The Bradley men are coming had their most successful indoor season in school history in 2019, scoring a school-record 86 points at the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championship. Michael Ward led BU with two championships, while Alec Hartman and Jake Hoffert highlight the returnees as all-conference individuals.

The Bradley women's championship was highlighted by claiming the first DMR title in school history. McKenzie Altmayer and Hannah Ivy both return after reaching the podium in the event, while Altmayer also earned all-conference honors in the 3,000m as Bradley more than doubled its point total from 17 in 2018 to 41 last year.

The Braves travel to Indiana State for the John Gartland Invitational next Saturday in Terre Haute, Indiana.
