Series Opener Postponed

The opening game of this weekend's baseball series at Tennessee Tech has been postponed due to snow and cold temps

COOKEVILLE, TN – The opening game of this weekend's Bradley Baseball series at Tennessee Tech, originally scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday, has been postponed due to snow and cold temperatures.  The game will be made up as part of a noon doubleheader Saturday at Tennessee Tech's Bush Stadium.
 

Bradley Baseball returns to The Volunteer State for a second week in a row as the Braves will visit Tennessee Tech for a 3-game weekend series at Bush Stadium.  The Braves own a 7-5 all-time record against Tennessee Tech, including a 5-4 advantage in true road games against the Golden Eagles, in a series that dates back to 1986.

MVC PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK
Dan Bolt, Bradley, Sr., OF, Morton IL
•  Bolt led a Bradley offensive that averaged 6.2 runs per game by hitting .421 (8-for-19) with three home runs and seven RBIs during the 4-game trip to the SAF Dirt Classic in the Nashville area.
•  Bolt heated up Friday when he went 3-for-5 with a 3-run home run at Lipscomb.
•  He followed by going 4-for-6 with two home runs and three RBIs in Saturday's 11-4 win at Austin Peay.
•  Bolt closed the trip by going 1-for-4 with a HBP and a RBI in Sunday's 8-7 loss at Belmont.
 

PITCHER-OF-THE-WEEK NOMINEE
Nick King, Bradley, Jr., RHP, Columbia, MO
•  King worked 4.0 scoreless IP to start Saturday's game at Austin Peay, leading the Braves to their first win of the season.
•  King surrendered just one hit, walked two and struck out four Saturday against the Governors.
 

TWO PLAYERS, 20 TOTAL BASES
•  Bradley senior LF Dan Bolt and junior 2B Adam Rellihan each racked up 10 total bases in Saturday's 11-4 win against Austin Peay.
•  Bolt was 4-for-6 with two home runs and two singles for his 10 bases, while Rellihan was 3-for-4 with a double and two home runs for his 10 bases.
•  Both Bolt and Rellihan qualified for Saturday's Top 30 Hitters list produced by D1Baseball.com.
 

SHADID GETS ON BASE
•  Bradley senior SS Luke Shadid continues to find ways to get on base and now has reached safely in 13 consecutive games, dating to last season.
•  Although he had just two hits in the four games of this past week's SAF Dirt Classic in Tennessee, Shadid was hit by two pitches and walked four times.
•  Though hitting .280 through the first seven games, Shadid leads the Braves with five walks and three hit-by-pitches to support his team-best .455 on-base percentage.
 

FRESHMAN SLUGGER
•  Freshman Carson Husmann has made an early offensive impact for the Braves.
•  Husmann was Bradley's opening-day starting DH and worked his way into the lineup as the RF during this past week's SAF Dirt Classic.
•  In his five games played to date, Husmann is batting .333 with four of his five base hits going for extra bases (2 doubles and two home runs).
•  Husmann's .867 slugging percentage leads the team.
