Rasmus Smidtslund Named Bradley Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. – Sophomore defender Rasmus Smidtslund (Helsinki, Finland/Pohjois-Haagan yhteiskoulu) has been named this week's Bradley Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after scoring the game-winning goal in Bradley Soccer's MVC Tournament win at SIU Edwardsville.

Smidtslund helped the Braves advance to the MVC Tournament semifinals, highlighting a 2-1 opening-round victory at SIU Edwardsville last Tuesday by netting the game-winner in the 73rd minute. He was named a First-Team MVC Scholar-Athlete for the second consecutive, with the management information systems major boasting a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a student-athlete is selected as the Bradley Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in academic standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
