Three Braves Earn All-Conference Honors on Day Two of MVC Championship

Cedar Falls, Iowa – The Bradley track and field teams continued its strong performance at the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship with a trio of Braves collecting all-conference honors.
 
Junior Charlie Parrish highlighted a dominant performance for the Braves in the 3,000m run, an event which saw the Braves collect 22 points and five of the top-seven finishers. Parrish earned his first career All-Missouri Valley Conference honors by placing second in the event, clocking a time of 8:27.84. The Braves then featured the four through seven runners with junior Evan Mitchell placing fourth (8:30.92), followed by junior Alec Danner in fifth (8:34.14), freshman Michael Rebello in sixth (8:35.17) and senior Alec Hartman in seventh (8:39.38).
 
One night after helping the Braves finish atop the podium in the distance medley relay, freshman Max Dieterich also added his first career individual All-Valley accolades, placing second in the mile run with a time of 4:14.57. Freshman Noah Costa also scored for the Braves, placing seventh in the event with a time of 4:19.95.
 
Freshman Wilma Nielsen matched Dieterich in the mile run for the Bradley women, finishing as the runner-up in the event in her MVC Championship debut. The rookie ran a time of 4:47.81 to clock the second-fastest time in school history. Senior Aisling Joyce and junior Amelia Lesher also scored for the Braves, placing fifth in 5:06.00 and seventh in 5:11.29, respectively.
 
Freshman Sophia McDonnell scored for the Bradley women in the 3,000m run, placing eighth in 10:19.35.
 
Wilma Nielsen also led a trio of qualifiers for tomorrow's 800m run. The Braves won each of the three heats as Wilma Nielsen posted a time of 2:14.08, Tiana LoStracco recorded a mark of 2:15.32 and Julia Nielsen crossed the finish line in 2:19.56.
 
Freshman Kyra Koontz also clocked a time of 9.06 in the 60m hurdles prelims – clocking the third-fastest time in school history and the quickest by a Brave in five years.
 
The men currently sit in fifth place in the team standings with 47 points – already surpassing last season's total of 34 points with one day remaining in the championship. The Bradley women are in seventh place with 30 points, having already more than doubled last season's point total of 13.
 
The championship wraps up tomorrow with the action beginning at 11:30 a.m.
