Game Recap: Baseball |
PEORIA, IL – The Bradley baseball team sealed a series victory against Saint Louis on Sunday afternoon, earning a 13-3 win at Dozer Park. The Braves improve to 14-15 with the non-conference victory, while the Billikens drop to 13-22.

The top three hitters in Bradley's lineup combined for 11 runs on the day. Senior Dan Bolt was 3-for-4 with four runs scored and three RBI, while TJ Manteufel (four) and Brendan Dougherty (three) combined for seven runs scored.

Junior Keaton Rice led Bradley with four RBI, going 1-for-3 with one run scored. Sophomore Connor Manthey also added two hits in three at-bats with two RBI as the Braves scored in double digits for the second time this series.

Saint Louis struck first in the contest, scoring on a passed ball after leading off the game with a single and double. The Braves quickly erased their deficit, however, when Bolt's seventh home run of the season squared the contest in the bottom half of the inning.

The Braves went ahead for good in the third frame, taking advantage of a pair of errors to push across three runs for a 4-1 lead. Bradley then doubled its advantage to six in the fifth inning. The first four Braves successfully reached base with Bolt scoring Dougherty with a single and then Rice bringing home Manteufel with a sacrifice fly. Ryan Vogel added the final run of the inning when his single scored Bolt for the 7-1 contest through five innings.

Saint Louis pulled one back in the sixth only for the Braves to quickly erase it in the bottom half of the inning when Manthey singled in Manteufel. Bradley then sealed the victory with a five-run eighth inning en route to the 13-3 win.

Junior Brooks Gosswein improved to 3-0 on the mound, pitching six innings and allowing only one earned run.

The Braves return to Missouri Valley Conference action next weekend, opening a four-game series at Indiana State on Thursday.
