CARBONDALE, IL – With a misty rain falling as Thursday's suspended game resumed, Dallas Baptist outfielder River Town hit a pair of home runs in the seventh and eighth inning and finished the lengthy game with seven RBI's, leading the top-seeded Patriots (35-15) to a 10-5 win against No. 3 seed Bradley (20-22) Friday at Itchy Jones Stadium.

The loss ends Bradley's season at the MVC Baseball Championship, while DBU advances to Saturday's winner's bracket final, where the Patriots will face either No. 2 seed Indiana State or No. 4 seed Southern Illinois.

Thursday's Game 7 of the MVC Baseball Championship was suspended in the middle of the sixth inning with DBU leading 4-2 after the Patriots rallied with four runs in the fifth inning.  Jed Moscot took over for starter Brooks Gosswein to start the bottom of the sixth Friday and he breezed through his first frame by inducing three ground balls.

The seventh inning did not go as smoothly, however, as Blayne Jones opened the frame with a single before Town followed with a 2-run home run to right field and Joe Carter MVC Player of the Year Jackson Glenn made it back-to-back home runs with a shot to left field.  Town added a 3-run homer in the eighth off Bradley closer Theron Denlinger to break the game open.

The Braves did not go down without a fight, however, as Keaton Rice and Carl Valk drew consecutive walks to open the ninth and freshman 2B Jackson Chatterton brought them home with a 3-run blast to center field.  A switch hitter, Chatterton finished the season with three home runs from each side of the plate and his six dingers are the most by a Bradley switch hitter since Pat Graham hit eight in 1993.

Ryan Vogel, who homered in the second inning Thursday, nearly left the yard again when he followed Chatterton's blast with a double off the top of the wall in left center, but the Braves could not keep the momentum going.
