BU Men Claim Bradley Intercollegiate Title

The Bradley men's cross country team cruised to a perfect start in Peoria during the 2021 season, winning both the team and individual titles at the Bradley Intercollegiate on Friday.

Making his collegiate debut, junior George Watson won the individual title with an 8K time of 24:25.8. His time is the fastest by a Brave at the Intercollegiate (34th running of the event), topping Michael Ward's mark of 24:30.3 in 2016.

Overall, Bradley posted the top seven finishers on the day as BU won the team title with a perfect score of 15 points. Senior Alec Danner finished right behind his teammate in second place with a time of 24:27.6. Michael Rebello (24:31.1), Rodrigo Alvarez Gonzalez (25:00.3), Eddie Narbett (25:10.8), Drew Wenger (25:16.2) and Noah Costa (25:26.8) rounded out the top seven at the meet.

Bradley claimed its eighth-straight men's title at its home meet, while Watson marks the seventh-straight individual crown for BU.

The Bradley women's team finished second in the three-mile race with Wisconsin claiming the team title.

Sophomore Tiana LoStracco paced the Braves in 13th place with a time of 17:37.4. Lily Strauss (17:57.9), Olivia Hobbs (18:20.3), Amelia Lesher (18:41.7) and Olivia Harp (19:03.1) rounded out the top five for BU.

The Braves are back in action on Friday, October 1 when they travel to Missouri for the Gans Creek Classic.
