Game Recap: Women's Basketball |
The Braves were looking to start off conference play on the right foot and found a tough challenge in Northern Iowa.

FIRST HALF
Daija Powell scored the first points of the game for the Braves, followed by a jumper from Alex Rouse, who would go on to have a big game. Rouse then hit another shot, but the Braves found themselves down 6-11 with five minutes left in the first quarter. Bradley continued to fight back. Veronika Roberts hit a one-handed shot down low, Rouse hit yet another jumper and Isis Fitch made two free throws and put back her own shot for two more points. The Braves were down 14-18 at the end of the first. Rouse, Powell and Fitch continued to keep Bradley going. Rouse seemed to hit every jumper she took, and Fitch and Powell were strong down low. Ruba Abo Hashesh made two deep threes to add onto the Braves' big second quarter. Bradley went into the half leading 35-30.

SECOND HALF
Northern Iowa came out strong in the second half, going on a 6-0 run to put them up by one before Bradley called timeout. The Braves were facing a new team in the second half, with UNI making a few threes and taking the lead 46-36 at 5:53 in the third quarter. Alex Rouse, however, still could not be stopped, continuing her jumpers and drives to the basket to keep Bradley going, but by the end of the third, the Braves were down 44-64. Going into the fourth, not much seemed to change. UNI seemed to make every shot they took, while Bradley struggled to keep up with their pace. Isis Fitch snagged her first career double-double in the fourth quarter. The Braves lost the game 64-83.

NOTABLES
Alex Rouse scored 16 points, grabbed three rebounds and tallied on an assist in the loss.
Isis Fitch had her first career double-double, with 11 points and 12 rebounds, along with two blocks.
