Game Recap: Baseball |
Nashville, Tenn. – The Bradley baseball team lost its first two game at the Music City Challenge on Friday, dropping games to Pittsburgh, 4-3, and Lipscomb, 14-0. The Braves are now 2-3 through five games of the 2022 season.

Game One Recap
Bradley opened the day with a one-run defeat to Pittsburgh (3-2), 4-3, after its ninth-inning rally fell just short.

Sophomore TJ Manteufel and freshman Jack Lincoln led the Braves with a pair of hits apiece with Lincoln driving in two runs in his first collegiate appearance.

The schools traded runs in the first two innings with Bradley answering Pitt's first-inning score when Lincoln drove in Jackson Chatterton in the second frame. The Panthers reclaimed their advantage with a run in both the fifth and sixth innings for a 3-1 edge. Bradley pulled one back in the seventh when Lincoln launched his first collegiate homer only for Pitt to move back in front by a pair, 4-2, in the eighth inning.

Down to its final three outs, Bradley loaded the bases in the ninth inning and scored one run via sacrifice fly but a strikeout ended the threat as the Panthers secured the 4-3 victory.

Senior Grant Jausel pitched seven innings for the Braves, allowing just two earned runs to go with four strikeouts.

Game Two Recap
The Braves allowed 15 free bases as the Bisons (3-1) took advantage for a 14-0 victory in BU's second game of the day.

Lipscomb scored 14 runs in the winning effort – aided by five runs in both the second and third innings – reaching double digits on just six hits to go with 12 walks and three hit by pitches.

The Braves wrap up play at the Music City Challenge with an 11 a.m. first pitch against Pittsburgh on Saturday.
