CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Senior Keaton Rice had a homer and double in a 3-for-4 effort at the plate as Bradley hit three home runs in the series opener at Southeast Missouri State, but the Redhawks used a nine-run third-inning to take the series opener 16-7 Friday at Capaha Field.

After SEMO (7-1 overall) jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a Tyler Wilber solo homer in the first, Rice knotted the score in the top of the second with the first of three Bradley (3-4 overall) homers in the contest. Rice's second-inning solo homer was his second dinger of the year

The Braves led 2-1 after sophomore TJ Manteufel belted a solo homer in the top of the third, only to have the Redhawks use a nine-run bottom half of the inning to take a 10-2 lead. The big hit of the SEMO half of the third came from Brett Graber, who delivered a two-run, bases-loaded double to put his team back in front.

Southeast Missouri State added a run in the bottom of the fourth, before sophomore Carson Husmann chased a Rice double with a two-out, two-run single to left that cut the Redhawks' advantage to 11-4.

Freshman Cole Luckey had a two-out, two-run homer in the eighth and Bradley scratched out a run in the ninth, but SEMO scored three in the seventh and added a pair of runs in the eighth to take the series opener 16-7.

Bradley and SEMO continue the three-game series Saturday with a 2 p.m. contest.
