ST. LOUIS, MO – Nikki Perlwitz has become just the third Missouri Valley Conference student-athlete in the last five years to win at least two consecutive All-MVC awards after being named All-MVC at No. 6 Singles. Kirstin Hailey and Bozana Lojpur each earned All-Select honors.

Lojpur is one of only two active MVC Women's Tennis student-athletes to hold at least four career end of-season awards and is one of only two players to earn consecutive All-Select honors in the last five years. Hailey becomes just the fourth freshman of 26 total All-Select honorees over that same span.

In league play this year, Perlwitz went a perfect 5-0, including a 4-0 mark at No. 6 Singles, where she had the most wins compared against MVC competition and where she earned her All-MVC honor last season.

She is only the third student-athlete in Bradley Tennis history to earn five Valley singles wins in a single season, joining Lojpur and Natalia Barbery, both in 2018-19.

Perlwitz's 11 singles wins in dual match play lead Bradley Tennis as do her 20 total singles wins combining the individual season. She has only dropped one set in Valley play this year and has won 10 of her last 12 singles matches.

She enters the conference tournament in sole possession of fifth in Bradley history with 64 career singles wins and has 42 career doubles wins with Lojpur, one shy of the program record for most doubles wins by a pair.

Hailey's entrance to The Valley as a true-freshman has been anything but gentle. Playing at No. 1 Doubles and No. 2 Singles, she has been nearly indispensable in Bradley Tennis wins.

All nine of BU's wins have come when winning the doubles point. Of those nine wins, only one came when Hailey and her partner Madalena Andrade did not prevail at the top doubles position. BU picked up another win against Missouri State when Hailey sat out due to a non-COVID related illness.

Andrade/Hailey have three Missouri Valley Conference Doubles Team of the Week awards this season. Only one pair at any position in the league have three DTOTW honors, the back-to-back All-MVC pair at No. 1 Doubles of Tijana Zlatanovic/Tara Damnjanovic from Illinois State.

After only her first year, Hailey is in a tie for the most career DTOTW awards in program history with three.  Her three recognitions are also apart of the five total for the Braves, the most DTOTW awards in a season in program history.

In singles, Hailey's wins include one over seasoned Valley veteran Claire Czerwonka. Czerwonka is fifth in Valpo Tennis history with 57 career singles wins and is one shy of moving into a tie for third.

That win pushed Bradley ahead 3-1 in the match against the Beacons, one they would eventually win 5-2. The triumph clinched the third seed in the MVC Women's Tennis Championships, the highest regular season finish by the Braves since 2018-19.

Hailey's two singles wins are tied for second most in The Valley by true freshmen with two UNI student-athletes. She has wins over both of those Panthers.

Her .500 singles winning percentage is second outright in The Valley amongst freshmen and the highest of any freshman student-athlete playing higher than No. 3 Doubles and No. 4 Singles.

In Lojpur's first year patrolling the No. 1 Singles position, Bradley Tennis improved its seeding in the MVC Women's Tennis Championship and clinched a third consecutive winning season in league play.

She earned her fourth end-of-season award from the MVC. She is now a two-time All-Select honoree, the All-MVC winner at No. 2 Singles in 2019 and the Freshman of the Year that same season.

Lojpur's seven career weekly awards from The Valley (four doubles, two singles) are second in program history behind Sandra Maletin.

She will enter the conference tournament in sixth place in program history with 63 career singles wins, one behind Perlwitz. She also 42 career doubles wins with Perlwitz, one shy of the program record for most doubles wins by a pair.

Bradley Tennis has earned at least three end-of-season awards in each of the last three cycles. BU earned three last season and four in the 2018-19 campaign.

The Braves open the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Tennis Championship as the number three seed tomorrow against the sixth seeded UNI Panthers. BU took a 5-2 road victory against the Panthers in the regular season. The winner will face the winner of seventh seeded Missouri State and second seeded Illinois State Saturday at 2 o'clock.
