Hannah Ivy set the school record in the 200m, one of 20 personal bests recorded by the Braves Friday

CHAMPAIGN, IL – A pair of sprinters posted the top two times in the 200 meters in Bradley Women's Track history, highlighting the opening day of competition at the Illini Invitational Friday at Demirjian Park.

Running together in the third of seven heats, junior Hannah Ivy (24.69) nosed out freshman Amiyah Davis (24.82) for the school record. All four Bradley sprinters in the 200m set personal bests with Ivy taking fifth place in the meet, followed by Davis in sixth, freshman Sidney Martin (25.41) in 12th and sophomore Kyra Koontz (26.14) in 17th among the 29 runners to start.

In total, Bradley student-athletes combined for 20 personal-best efforts Friday. Freshman Shae Fuller set the tone for the day, getting the action for the Braves started by finishing third among 18 entries in the long jump with the third-best distance in program history – 18' 5 ¼".

The 200m group performance carried over to the Women's 1500m, as six of the nine Braves to run the race set personal-best times, including three among the top 10 times in program history. Sophomore Tiana LoStracco threatened Wilma Nielsen's year-old school record, posting the second-best time in Bradley history at 4:22.84 for a second-place finish in the 48-runner field. The six Braves to post personal bests all finished among the event's top eight runners: LoStracco was followed by freshman Nicola Jansen (third in 4:23.82), junior Tyler Schwartz (fifth in 4:29.27), redshirt freshman Ashley Maguire (sixth in 4:30.64), redshirt freshman Olivia Hobbs (seventh in 4:37.04) and freshman Alice Narciso (eighth in 4:38.17).

Bradley also dominated the Men's 1,500m Friday evening with five Braves finishing among the event's top eight and six setting personal bests. Junior George Watson paced the Bradley contingent, finishing second in 3:50.39. Watson was followed by sophomore Aidan Donahue (3:52.60) in third, senior Alec Danner (3:53.04) in fifth, redshirt freshman Michael Rebello (3:53.58) in seventh and junior Charlie Parrish (3:55.82) in eighth. Freshman Ivan Westcott also posted a personal best (3:57.66) to finish 12th among the 35 event runners, one spot behind senior Matt Aho (3:56.82).

The Illini Invitational will continue Saturday with Bradley beginning competition at 2 o'clock. Video will be live streamed by Fighting Illini Productions with live event results produced by ShaZam Racing. Links to both streaming platforms are available at BradleyBraves.com.

Following the Illini Invitational, Bradley will have two regular-season meets remaining before the 2022 Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships – April 28-30 at the Drake Relays and April 30 at Indiana State's Sycamore Open.
