Bradley Track set to compete Friday and Saturday at the Ole Miss Joe Walker Invitational

OXFORD, Miss. – For the second time in three weeks, Bradley Track and Field student-athletes will be showcased on the Power 5 conference stage when 33 Braves compete in a full program of events at the Joe Walker Invite Friday and Saturday at Ole Miss Track & Field Complex.

After opening the 2022 outdoor season March 24-26 at North Carolina State's Raleigh Relays, Bradley's student-athletes will face another tough field of competitors this weekend at the Southeastern Conference venue, where 25 schools will be represented, including seven SEC institutions, Missouri Valley Conference rival Southern Illinois and future MVC member Belmont.

Sophomore Kyra Koontz will get the action started for the Braves Friday afternoon when she competes in both the Javelin and Long Jump. Friday's menu also includes the 200m, the 3000m Steeplechase Invite and the 5000m Invite races for both the men and women. Bradley has a total of 12 student-athletes entered in the men's and women's 5000 meters.

Following the remaining events in the multi-discipline Heptathlon and Decathlon in the morning and the field events to start the afternoon, Bradley's student-athletes will hit the track for Saturday's running events, beginning with the men's and women's 1500m, just after 2 o'clock. Saturday's slate for the Braves also will include the Women's 100m Hurdles, Women's and Men's 400m, Women's and Men's 100m, Women's and Men's 800m and the Women's 4x400m Relays.
