OXFORD, Miss. – Bradley runners set eight personal bests, including a strong team performance in the Men's 5,000 meters, highlighting the first day of action at the Joe Walker Invitational Friday at Ole Miss Track and Field Complex.

Among the individual bests from the Braves Friday, senior Alec Danner posted the eighth-best performance, 14:22.31, in program history during the first section of the men's 5,000 meters, only to see freshman Michael Rebello follow with a PR of his own, 14:14.06, to finish fourth at Ole Miss with the sixth-best time in program history. Bradley entered eight runners in the Men's 5,000m and capped off Friday night's action by placing three among the race's top 11 finishers. In addition to Rebello and Danner (8th), Matt Aho finished 11th among the 41 runners to finish the event in 14:27.09.

Although more than 10 seconds off her school-record run from last year's Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, sophomore Sophia McDonnell still ran the third-best 3,000m Steeplechase, 10:31.07, in program history Friday.

Additional PR's Friday included Eli Rieker in the Men's 200m (22.76); Charlie Parrish in the Men's 3,000m Steeplechase (8:58.92); Alice Narciso in the Women's 1,500m (4:38.70); Aidan Donohue in the Men's 1,500m (3:54.74); Lily Strauss in the Women's 5,000m (17:41.18); and Rodrigo Alvarez Gonzalez in the Men's 5,000m (14:42.87).

The Joe Walker Invite will continue with a full slate of action Saturday. The Braves are expected to begin competing in the running events just after 2 o'clock.
