Evansville Take Series Finale over BU

Evansville, Ind. – Evansville claimed the series finale of a three-game set against the Bradley baseball team with a 15-4 victory on Sunday afternoon. The Braves are now 13-24 on the season and 5-7 in Missouri Valley Conference action, while the Purple Aces improve to 24-18 and 9-3 in league play.
 
Junior Connor O'Brien hit two home runs in a game for the first time this season and for the second time in his career, driving in three of BU's four runs on the day. The first baseman hit a two-run shot in the first inning to give BU the early lead before Adam Brian drew a bases-loaded walk for the 3-0 advantage.
 
Evansville responded with four runs in its half of the first on the strength of a three-run homer. O'Brien quickly answered in the second frame though with a solo shot for his ninth homer of the season and third of the weekend. The Purple Aces, however, would answer with two solo shots in the bottom of the second for a 6-4 lead and then added nine more runs in the following innings to secure the 15-4 win.
 
Bradley returns to action with a home game against Western Illinois. The Braves welcome the Leathernecks to Dozer Park on Tuesday with a 6 p.m. start time.
