Peoria, Ill. -- The Bradley Track & Field team brought home six school records over the weekend in their two meets.
GVSU Big Meet
Many of the Bradley Braves made the trip to Allendale, Michigan to compete in the GVSU Big Meet. Three school records fell at the GVSU Big Meet.
Leah Thames claimed two school records, one in the Women's 200m and one in the Women's 60m. Thames claimed the school record in the 200m with a time of 24.96 and her time of 7.80 was good enough to take the school record in the 60m.
Eli Rieker claimed the third school record and did it in the 60m as well with a time of 6.99. Rieker also collected a sixth-place finish in his heat of the Men's 200m.
Shae Fuller won the long jump event with a distance of 17' 11.75". She also finished in third in the triple jump with a distance of 37' 2".
Max McDaniel finished second in his heat in the Men's 5000m with a time of 15:13.37.
Rodrigo Alvarzed Gonzalez finished 10th in his heat of Men's 5000m.
Amiyah Davis finished 10th with a time of 25.58 in the same heat of the Women's 200m that Thames set the school record. Davis also finished in eighth in the 400m.
Olivia Harp finished eighth in her heat of the Women's 3000m.
Will Smith finished in 10th in the Men's 800m.
Jack Crull finished third in the Men's 1 mile.
David Hemery Valentine Invitational
Three more records fell at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University.
Wilma Nielsen took the school record in the Women's 800m with a time of 2:02.91.
Tiana LoStracco and
Julia Nielsen also record personal bests in this event as well.
Nicola Jansen broke the school record in the Women's 3000m run with a time of 9:13.60.
Peyton Schieppe finished behind Jansen and would have broken the school record with her time of 9:22.46.
In one of the last events of the invitational,
Matt Aho took the school record in the Men's 5000m with a time of 14:06.86.
Charlie Parrish and
Alec Danner also broke the previous record with their times of 14:08.15 and 14:08.96.
What's Coming Up?
The Braves head back to Iowa next weekend for another event hosted by the Iowa Hawkeyes.
