The Braves and Flames met for the second time this season at the Renaissance Coliseum in Peoria on Saturday afternoon.
Veronika Roberts was celebrated for Senior Day, and it was the inaugural Be Bold, Go Gold! game for pediatric cancer awareness.
Both teams began the game strong, with Bradley scoring the first basket. UIC picked up its momentum a few minutes into the first quarter, eventually getting a 7-2 lead over the Braves and finishing the quarter with a score of 15-5. The Flames showcased their strong defense, holding Bradley to only 17 points in the first half while scoring 35. Bradley continued to fight back throughout the second half, but fouls and turnovers would award UIC extra points. Bradley lost the game 38-64. The Flames dished out 14 assists compared to Bradley's 11, snagged 14 steals while the Braves had four and out-scored BU in the paint 34-14.
Caroline Waite led the way for the Braves with 17 points, four rebounds and one assist.
Veronika Roberts had seven points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal.
Daija Powell chipped in six points, six rebounds and one steal.
