Chicago, Ill. -- The Bradley Track & Field team finishes fourth in the women's division and fifth in the men's division at the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championships in Chicago.
Seven MVC Champions
Between the men's and women's teams, the Bradley Braves boast seven MVC Champions after the two-day meet.
Nicola Jansen and
George Watson each won two championships in the same events of the 3000M and the 5000M.
On day one, Jansen recorded a time of 16:06.69 in the Women's 5000M. On day two, Jansen finished with a time of 9:22.20 in the Women's 3000M. Jansen also set the MVC Meet Record in both events.
For Watson, he finished with a time of 14:11.63 on day one in the Men's 5000M. On day two, Watson completed the Men's 3000M with a time of 8:11.81.
The Braves claimed one more championship on Sunday night with the Women's DMR team taking the championship. The team of
Tiana LoStracco,
Amiyah Davis,
Julia Nielsen and
Peyton Schieppe combined for a time of 11:36.77. The group also set the meet record with their time.
On day two,
Tiana LoStracco started the Braves off with an MVC Championship in the Women's 1 Mile with a time of 4:56.36.
The Nielsen sisters headlined the Women's 800M and
Wilma Nielsen won the race with a time of 2:09.66.
Julia Nielsen finished in second place with a time of 2:10.
School Record
On Sunday,
Eli Rieker broke the school record in the Men's 200M with a time of 22.11.
Other Notable Performances
In the Men's 3000M, the Bradley team swept the podium with
Matt Aho and
Alec Danner taking second and third place behind Watson who won the event.
Ashley Maguire finished in second place in the Women's 5000M and a personal record with a time of 16:35.10.
On the men's side,
Matt Aho finished in second place behind Watson.
In the Men's DMR,
Caleb Lind,
Ivan Westcott,
Will Smith and
Jack Crull combined for a second-place finish.
Jack Crull made the podium in the Men's 1 Mile race with a third-place finish.
Peyton Schieppe also made the podium in the Women's 3000M with a third-place finish.
MVC Awards
Wilma Nielsen was named the Women's Track Most Outstanding Performer for the indoor season.
Peyton Schieppe was named the Freshman of the Year for the indoor season.
