PEORIA, Ill. – Bradley Men's Basketball continues Missouri Valley Conference play with Evansville on Wednesday night at 7 PM at Carver Arena. 

Hickman Named MVC Player of the Week

Connor Hickman was named the MVC Player of the Week after he had 53 points between his last two games against Valparaiso and Missouri State. More information on the award can be found here

Series History

The Braves hold a 38-23 record over the Purple Aces in their all-time matchup. Bradley is on a 10-game win streak against Evansville with their last loss in the 2017-18 season. In their only matchup last season, Bradley defeated Evansville 91-46. Hickman tallied 15 points in that game.

About the Purple Aces

Evansville had a very successful non-conference slate after they went 9-2. Their notable wins came against Miami Ohio, Ball State and Chattanooga. They are 1-3 in MVC play this season with their only win against Northern Iowa at home. With a 10-5 overall record, the Purple Aces come to Carver Arena on a three-game losing skid. In their most recent game, they fell to Murray State at home by a score of 59-81. 

The Purple Aces were picked to finish 11th in the Missouri Valley Conference this season. Kenny Strawbrige Jr. was added to the Preseason All-MVC Second Team. Ben Humrichous is eighth in the Valley in scoring, seventh in field goal percentage, second in three-point percentage and fourth in blocks. 

About the Braves

Bradley comes into this game with a 10-5 overall record and 2-2 MVC record. They are on a four-game win streak with two straight MVC wins over Valparaiso and Missouri State. In their last game, Bradley defeated Missouri State by a score of 86-60. It was the second straight game the Braves had scored 86 points. Hickman ended the game with 25 points and six made three-pointers. Darius Hannah collected 19 points after he was a perfect 8-for-8 from the field. 

Before the season, Bradley was picked to finish third in the MVC behind Drake and Northern Iowa. Malevy Leons was named to the Preseason All-MVC First Team, while Duke Deen was named to the Third Team. In the MVC this season, Leons is third in rebounding, second in steals and fourth in minutes played. Hannah is first in field goal percentage and Hickman is second in three-pointers made.
