CHICAGO, Ill. – Bradley Track & Field closed out a successful 2025 Indoor Track & Field season as the team competed in the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships in Chicago on Sunday, March 2 and Monday, March 3.
The Braves brought home eight Missouri Valley Conference championships and 16 athletes/relay teams won medals at the Dr. Conrad Worrill Track & Field Center.
Bradley athletes/teams won three MVC Championships on a preliminary-focused Sunday after the Braves had 27 runners run their way into their respective championship finals races on Monday.
On Sunday evening,
Jayde Rosslee used a late-race surge to win the Men's 5000m championship, running an MVC-meet-record time of 14:04.90.
Caleb Lind brought home third place with 14:20.06 and
Ian O'Laughlin closed out the point-scoring positions with an eighth-place run of 14:36.56.
The women's and men's Distance Medley Relay teams swept the MVC DMR championships.
Trixie Wraith,
Amiyah Davis,
Eilen Brenne and
Abigail Hancock set a new MVC Indoor Championship record, completing the race in 11:28.03 en route to the third consecutive Bradley Women's DMR MVC Championship.
Zachary Balzer,
Matthew Burnett,
Kaden Kingsmith and
Jack Crull followed with a championship-winning run of 9:51.76 to close out Sunday.
Kaitlyn Sheppard brought home third place in the women's 5000m with 16:46.30, while
Nadia Potgieter placed sixth in the race with 17:09.93.
Championship Monday saw five more MVC championships won including two event sweeps by Bradley athletes.
Abigail Hancock and
Jack Crull began the Monday track events by sweeping the mile MVC championships. Hancock won her mile championship in 4:44.05, while Crull brought home his championship in 4:10.96.
Ciara Thornley earned a medal with a 4:44.76 in the women's mile, while
Trixie Wraith (4:45.97) and
Eimear McCarroll (4:49.77) brought home sixth and seventh place.
Jaxson Copelin took second place with 4:11.96 to complete a Bradley breakaway in the men's mile, with Crull and Copelin finishing five and four seconds ahead of all other competitors.
Travis Gaffney (4:16.21) brought home fifth place.
Jamie Phillips won the men's 800m MVC Championship in his first conference meet, taking the gold with a 1:51.03. Kingsmith brought home the silver just behind Phillips with 1:51.21. Copelin and Burnett each notched top-six finishes, with Copelin taking fifth (1:52.71) and Burnett taking sixth (1:52.83).
Bradley earned a third MVC championship event sweep in the 3000m races. Sheppard set a new MVC record en route to an MVC title, completing the race in 9:19.65. Thornley finished fifth with 9:37.61 and Hancock rounded out the points positions, placing eighth with 9:39.55. In the men's 3000m race, Crull won his second MVC championship of the day with a race-winning 8:10.61. Rosslee brought home the bronze, completing the race in 8:12.97, while
Caleb Lind placed eighth with 8:20.32.
Other notable performances include
Amiyah Davis' second-place finish (54.68) and
Carolina Martinez's sixth-place finish (56.31) in the Women's 400m.
Eilen Brenne brought home fifth in the women's 800m, running 2:10.46. To close out Monday, the women's 4x400m relay team of Martinez,
Julia de Palma Mendiguchia, Brenne and Davis set a new program record with 3:45.42, placing third.
Bradley finished in fourth place in the men's and women's team standings, tallying 76 points on the women's side and 95 points on the men's side.
