PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley University soccer athlete Michael Switala has been named this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday. Switala was honored after scoring the game-tying goal in the 79th minute in Bradley's 1-1 draw against Omaha.

The senior from Park Ridge, Illinois, scored his team-leading second goal of the season and in as many games to bring the Braves level against Omaha on Saturday afternoon. Switala earned a penalty kick after an Omaha defender committed a handball inside the 18-yard box, which the midfielder slotted into the lower-right corner.

Switala's strong performance and academic success have earned him this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete honor.
