Game Recap

In a pitcher's duel that carried deep into the night, the Braves held the Wildcats to just one run through eight innings before Bethune-Cookman walked it off in the bottom of the ninth.
Bradley was limited to five hits on the evening but kept constant pressure on the bases with six walks. The Braves finally broke through in the top of the ninth when Landon Lowe reached and came around to score, giving Bradley a 1-0 lead heading to the bottom half.
Bethune-Cookman answered immediately. After back-to-back hits to open the inning, the Wildcats plated the tying run and followed with the game-winner to secure the 2-1 victory.
Michael Quick led the offense with a 2-for-4 performance at the plate, while Lowe added a hit, a walk, and the Braves' lone run. Ashton Horchem also reached three times with a hit and two walks.
On the mound, Bradley received a strong opening-night effort from William Soignier, who tossed four innings and allowed just one run on four hits while striking out three. Davis Webb provided three scoreless innings of relief, scattering one hit and striking out two. Brady Appel worked 1.1 innings and allowed one unearned run, and Robert Sanford was charged with the loss in the ninth.
Bethune-Cookman's bullpen combination of Abreu, Morrissey, Barroso, and Torres limited the Braves to one run while striking out 11. Torres earned the win after closing out the final inning.
