Game Recap: Baseball |

Bethune-Cookman 17, Bradley 6

The Wildcats used a series of multi-run innings to pull away early and never looked back, improving to 2-0 on the season.

Bradley (0-2) collected eight hits on the night and showed flashes offensively, highlighted by a home run from Anthony Martinez and RBIs from Hayden Miller and Landon Lowe. The Braves were aggressive on the basepaths, recording stolen bases from AJ Garcia, Hayden Miller, and Ashton Horchem.

Martinez provided the biggest swing for Bradley with a solo home run, while Miller drove in a run and Lowe added an RBI as part of the Braves' six-run output.

Bethune-Cookman's offense proved difficult to contain, tallying 13 hits and capitalizing on 10 walks and hit-by-pitches. Polledo led the charge with a home run and three RBIs, while Rodriguez and Zuany each drove in two runs. Lee added a pair of RBIs as part of the Wildcats' balanced attack.

On the mound, Gavin Thompson was charged with the loss after allowing six runs, five earned, over 3.1 innings. Eli Lehrman followed and surrendered seven runs in two innings of work. Lou Levy worked two-thirds of an inning, and Mason Lee and Tristan Duke combined to close out the game for the Braves.

Bethune-Cookman starter Sanchez earned the win, working five innings while allowing four runs. The Wildcats used four additional relievers to secure the victory.

By The Numbers

Bradley: 6 runs, 8 hits, 2 errors
Bethune-Cookman: 17 runs, 13 hits, 0 errors

Bradley drew six walks but left multiple runners on base in key moments. The Wildcats plated runs in bunches, including several crooked-number innings that created separation early.

The Braves will look to regroup as they close out the opening weekend in Daytona Beach.
