UNLV 13, Bradley 5
Las Vegas, NV. – Bradley built early momentum, but a late surge by UNLV proved decisive in a 13-5 setback Saturday afternoon at Earl E. Wilson Stadium.
The Braves struck quickly in the opening inning. Sohrab Rezaei singled and later scored as Bradley manufactured an early run to take a 1-0 lead.
UNLV responded immediately in the bottom half. The Rebels plated two runs to move in front before Bradley answered again in the second inning. Michael Quick delivered a solo home run to even the score at 2-2 and keep the Braves within striking distance.
The game remained tight through the middle innings. UNLV added a run in the fifth to take a 3-2 lead as both pitching staffs settled in and limited scoring opportunities.
The Rebels broke the game open in the seventh. UNLV pushed across three runs to extend the advantage before erupting for seven runs in the eighth inning, capitalizing on hits, walks, and hit batters to create separation.
Bradley mounted one final push in the ninth. The Braves scored three runs in the frame as Quick delivered another RBI opportunity and Hayden Miller added a run-scoring hit, but the rally fell short as UNLV closed out the contest.
Bradley finished with seven hits in the game. Quick paced the offense with a 2-for-5 performance that included a home run and two RBIs, while A.J. Garcia collected two hits and drove in a pair. Rezaei also recorded two hits and scored a run for the Braves.
On the mound, Gavin Thompson (0-2) was charged with the loss after allowing three runs, two earned, over 4.2 innings while striking out five. Calen Scheider followed in relief and Mason Lee also appeared on the mound during the late innings.
UNLV totaled 13 hits and drew seven walks on the afternoon while going 4-for-12 with runners in scoring position.
