Terre Haute, Ind. – Bradley Baseball dropped its Missouri Valley Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon, falling 8-3 to Indiana State at Bob Warn Field.
Early Lead Slips Away
Bradley struck first for the second straight game, taking a 1-0 lead in the opening inning as Luke Skinner delivered an RBI single to score Michael Quick. Indiana State answered in the second and began to take control in the middle innings, scoring in the fourth and fifth before breaking the game open with a five-run stretch across the sixth and seventh to build an 8-1 advantage.
The Braves showed late life, plating a run in the eighth on an RBI double from Landon Lowe and adding another in the ninth on a solo home run by Jaxon Schumacher, but the rally fell short.
Standout Performances for Bradley
Skinner led the way offensively, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Lowe added two hits, including a double, and drove in a run, while Schumacher provided the late spark with his home run. Michael Quick reached base twice and scored a run as Bradley totaled eight hits on the afternoon.
On the Mound
Calen Scheider got the start for Bradley, working 3.1 innings and allowing two runs. Ryan Schaffnit followed with two innings of relief before Indiana State capitalized in the sixth and seventh innings. Drew Politte provided a bright spot out of the bullpen, tossing 1.2 scoreless innings to close the game.
Indiana State finished with 12 hits, led by Nomar Garcia and Colin Sander, who combined for five hits and four RBIs.
