Peoria, IL - Bradley University Head Women's Basketball Coach Kate Popovec-Goss has accepted the head coaching position at Boston College.

Popovec-Goss departs after a successful 2025-26 season, highlighted by a 20–13 overall record and one of the most successful campaigns in program history. Bradley recorded 13 conference wins, tying for the most in program history, and earned a third-place finish in the Missouri Valley Conference, matching the highest conference finish in program history. The Braves also secured their first-ever appearance in the Women's National Invitation Tournament, traveling to face George Washington University in Washington, D.C., marking the program's first postseason appearance since the 2020–21 season.

"We are incredibly grateful for the impact Kate has had on our women's basketball program," said Dr. Chris Reynolds. "Her leadership and passion are clearly evident in everything she does, and we are in a stronger position for continued success. We thank Kate for all she has accomplished at Bradley and wish her and her family the very best in this next chapter at Boston College."

Over her tenure, five student-athletes earned All-Conference honors, including this season's standouts Kaylen Nelson, who was named First Team All-MVC, and Maya Foz, who earned MVC Freshman of the Year honors, further reflecting the growth and success of the program under Popovec-Goss' leadership.

"I am so grateful for my time at Bradley and am so proud of what we have built throughout the past four seasons," said Kate Popovec-Goss.  "I always say you win with people, and Peoria is filled with the absolute best. First, thank you to Chris Reynolds, Brad Chandler, Jen Jones, President Shadid and the rest of the administration. Thank you for believing in me and supporting my vision for Bradley Women's Basketball. Together, we made that vision a reality. Second, thank you to our donors and community of Peoria. No one loves their university and athletes more than the 309, and it makes wearing the Bradley script so special.  Thank you to my staff—the best staff in the country. You put our athletes and their experiences at the forefront, and the results are the byproduct. Together we have won games, but more importantly, invested in a group of tremendously special people and helped them achieve their goals. And finally, to my players - there are not enough words to articulate what you have meant to me, the university, and the community. Your growth and success is why I coach, and I am forever indebted for your unwavering belief in Bradley. You have made history, and that's what we set out to do. My family and I will forever treasure our time at Bradley and in Peoria and will forever root for the Braves."

A national search for the 11th head coach in Bradley Women's Basketball history will begin immediately.
