Braves Fall to Billikens

Game Recap: Baseball |

Saint Louis 4, Bradley 1

St. Louis, Mo. – Bradley was held to five hits as Saint Louis used a three-run fifth inning to pull away for a 4–1 victory Sunday afternoon at the Billiken Sports Center.

The game remained scoreless through the first four innings as both starting pitchers settled into a rhythm. Bradley starter Calen Scheider kept the Billikens off the board early, navigating traffic while striking out three across six innings of work.

Saint Louis broke the deadlock in the bottom of the fifth inning. The Billikens strung together key hits, including a run-scoring double from Joey Canzoni and a two-RBI single from Chase Beattie, to build a 3–0 advantage.

Bradley continued to battle and finally broke through in the eighth inning. After working baserunners into scoring position, Sohrab Rezaei delivered an RBI single to plate the Braves' lone run and cut the deficit to 3–1.

Saint Louis responded with an insurance run in the seventh to extend its lead to 4–1, and the Billiken pitching staff closed out the final innings to secure the win.

Offensively, Bradley finished with five hits. Sohrab Rezaei, Jack Holubowski, Anthony Martinez, Luke Skinner, and Colin McCormick each recorded a hit for the Braves, with Rezaei driving in the team's only run.

On the mound, Scheider took the loss despite a solid outing, allowing four runs on six hits across six innings. Eli Lehrman and Drew Politte combined to work the final two innings in relief.

Saint Louis totaled eight hits in the contest and capitalized on timely hitting in the fifth inning to secure the victory.
