STANFORD, Calif. -- Three program records and 10 top ten times were set during April's first weekend as Bradley Track & Field competed in the Stanford Invitational and Mike Fanelli Track Classic in California and the Pacesetter Sports Invitational in Terre Haute.
Two of those program records were set in the Stanford Invitational on Friday night.
Trixie Wraith ran a historic 5000m race for the Braves, clocking a record-setting 15:51.98 in the event. Her run marked the first time a Brave ran a 5000m race in under 16:00.00. Wraith's time took nine seconds off the previous record. She was not the only runner to record a sub-16 minute time in the event, as
Nadia Potgieter finished just behind her teammate at 15:53.83 for the program's new second-fastest time.
The team's second record set on Friday night came in one of the evening's final events of the day.
JD Rosslee ran 28:25.07 in the Men's 10000m Invite section, shattering the previous record by 24 seconds. The junior from South Africa has now broken a program record in each of the last two Stanford Invitational events -- he broke the 5000m program record at the 2025 event, lowering it to the current record of 13:39.10.
Friday night in California also saw a pair of new top ten times in 1500m events, as
Kaitlyn Sheppard (4:15.45, fourth-fastest) and
Travis Gaffney (3:45.65, seventh-fastest) set new personal bests in their respective events.
In Terre Haute,
Landon Pogue set the ninth-fastest 3000m steeplechase time on Friday night, running a personal-best 9:18.23
Saturday saw three more top ten times set in California, this time in 800m events.
Kaitlyn Sheppard's 2:07.83 was the fifth-fastest time in program history and allowed her to win her heat at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic in San Francisco. At Stanford,
Kaden Kingsmith improved on his 800m personal best, lowering it to 1:47.42 and winning the 800m event in the Stanford Invitational from the second heat. Bradley athletes have won the 800m event at the Stanford Invitational in back-to-back seasons from lower heats, as
Matthew Burnett won the event from the third heat in 2025.
David Locke ran 1:49.54 for the new seventh-fastest time in program history.
The majority of running at a windy Pacesetter Sports Invitational came on Saturday afternoon. From breaking a program record in track's longest event on a Friday night, the Braves also set a program record in track's shortest relay on Saturday morning. The team of
Olivia Redpath,
Carolina Martinez,
Ava Wilson and
Julia Brown clocked a record-setting 46.66 seconds for the team's third record of the weekend. The team -- composed of two sophomores and two freshmen -- displaced the 2021 mark of 47.85 from the top spot.
Elsewhere,
Ayva Rush set a new 400m personal best in Terre Haute (58.48), while
Carissa Hamilton took first place in the 1500m race with a time of 4:35.27.
Isaac Lind also set an 800m PB at 1:52.51, while
Jacob Trangmar ran 3:52.24 in the 1500m for a personal best.
