Bradley Baseball Closes Final Road Trip with Win Over Campbell

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Bradley Baseball ended their final road trip of the season with a 5-4 win over the Campbell Fighting Camels on Sunday.

Comeback Win

Campbell opened the scoring in the third with a two-run blast to center and added another run in the top of the fourth with an RBI single. The Braves began to cut into the deficit with Hayden Miller's RBI single in the bottom half of the fourth inning.

Bradley took the lead in the fifth inning on a Luke Skinner grand slam to right field that made the score 5-3. A solo shot from the Fighting Camels in the seventh cut the deficit to one run, but Josh Vaughn shut the door, pitching 2.1 scoreless innings to secure the Braves' win.

Standout Performances for Bradley

AJ Garcia had a strong day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double and a stolen base. Skinner was the hero, hitting 1-for-4 with a grand slam, four RBI, and a run scored.

Peyton Nelson was 1-for-3 with a run scored, and Jaxon Schumacher reached safely twice via a walk and a hit-by-pitch and scored once. Miller went 1-for-4 with an RBI.

On the Mound

Gavin Thompson made the start, pitching two innings and allowing two runs on two hits while recording two walks and two strikeouts. Eli Lehrman earned his first win of the season, pitching 4.2 innings while yielding two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out two.

Vaughn earned his first save of the season, striking out four and allowing one hit over the final 2.1 innings.

Standout Performances for Campbell

Owen Simmons and Carlos Lugo combined to pitch 2.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen while allowing just two hits and striking out three. Offensively, Logen Sutton was 2-for-4 with a home run, an RBI, and two runs scored.
