Four Braves combined for four new top 10 times and a program record in 800m events at the Billy Hayes Invitaitonal on May 8.
Jamie Phillips trimmed 0.13 seconds off his personal best to lower the program's best 800m time to 1:45.61.
Kaden Kingsmith set the program's second-best time at 1:46.74, while
Jaxson Copelin set the fifth-fastest time at 1:47.80. In the women's race,
Eilen Brenne set a new mark for the seventh-fastest time in program history, running a personal-bets 2:08.11.
RECAPPING THE 2025 MVC OUTDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Braves won three conference titles at the 2025 MVC Outdoor Championships in Carbondale, Ill.
Kaitlyn Sheppard earned the Women's 1500m title,
Jamie Phillips earned the Men's 800m title and
JD Rosslee earned the Men's 5000m title. Bradley athletes also earned seven second- or third-place finishes, with
Jack Crull (800m, 1500m),
Jaxson Copelin (1500m),
Caleb Lind (10000m),
Amiyah Davis (400m),
Trixie Wraith (800m) and Sheppard (5000m) adding All-Conference honors in their respective events.
CROSS COUNTRY & TRACK TEAM NOTES
- The MVC Outdoor Championships are in Terre Haute, Ind., this year, marking the second time in three years that the Championships have been held there.
- Prior to 2024, the conference championship had not been held there since 2019. That year was the city's third time in a four-year period it had hosted.
- Four Braves have times that rank in the top 50 in the NCAA. They are:
- The Men's 800m squad was ranked sixth in the country, per the May 12 USTFCCCA #EventSquad rankings.
- Five Braves hold conference-best times entering the MVC Championships. They are
- The top athletes in the West will qualify for the NCAA West First Round, held in Fayetteville, Ark., from May 27-30.
- Currently, eight Braves hold top-50 times in specific events on the West Qualifying List.
