Ross Winter joined the Bradley Baseball coaching staff after one season as a volunteer student assistant at Michigan State. The 2009 Spartans posted a 23-31 overall recorded, including a fifth-place finish in the Big Ten Conference. Michigan State ranked in the top half of the Big Ten in both team pitching and fielding, and had one player selected in the 2009 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.

After one season with the Spartans, Winter took a volunteer assistant position at NCAA Division II Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Ark. for the fall of 2009 before making his way to Peoria as a member of the 2010 Bradley coaching staff.

"Ross is very energetic, passionate and knowledgeable about the game," said head coach Elvis Dominguez. "He is an extremely hard worker and I know that will rub off on our players in a positive way."

Winter graduated with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Michigan State in 2008. He earned his Michigan Teacher's Certification for physical education (K-12) and English (6-12) from MSU in 2009 and is currently pursuing a master's degree in sport commerce from the University of Memphis.
