Career Stats Career Statistics Biography Summary Biography HONORS & AWARDS MLB First-Year Player Draft: 2016 37th round by the Detroit Tigers MVC Honor Roll (2): 2019, 2020 Bradley Athletic Director's Honor Roll (min. 3.30 semester GPA; 3): Spring ‘19, Fall '19, Fall '20 AT BRADLEY (2019-21) • Transferred to Bradley for the 2018-19 season, but sat out the 2019 campaign per NCAA rules. • Came off the bench in two games during the abbreviated 2020 season, going 1-for-2 with a RBI. • Appeared in five games in 2021 and delivered a 2-run, pinch-hit single off the left field wall against Saint Louis April 25. AT SOUTHEAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE • In his two years at Southeast Community College, Fleita helped the Storm advance to the NJCAA World Series for the first time in program history in 2017, then followed up that achievement by helping SCC to the most wins in program history in 2018. • Limited to 37 games in his two seasons, but hit .258 with seven doubles, a home run and 16 RBI in his two-year SCC career. AT MAINE SOUTH H.S. • Played two years of varsity baseball at Maine South and was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 37th round of the 2016 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft following his senior season. • Earned all-area honors following his senior season, when he also was named his team’s offensive player of the year and the Kiwanis Club Athlete of the Semester. PERSONAL • The son of Oneri and Suzie Fleita, David was born Sept. 16, 1997 in Atlanta. • The middle of three siblings, David’s sister is Maggie and brother is TJ. • Father, Oneri Fleita, played college baseball at Creighton in 1987-88 for then Bluejays assistant coach Elvis Dominguez. • Oneri Fleita went on to play two seasons (1988, 1989) in the Baltimore Orioles organization and has worked in the front office for several Major League Baseball teams, including a six-year (2007-12) stint as Chicago Cubs vice president of player personnel.
