HONORS AND AWARDS
2023-24 All-MVC Freshman Team
Bradley Athletic Director's Honor Roll: Fall '23

2023-24 | FRESHMAN

Atlason's inaugural season on the hilltop was one to remember. The 6' 8" freshman from Iceland lead the Braves in 3FG% at 41% and became the first Bradley MBB freshman to accomplish that feat since Nate Kennel in the 2016-17 season. In only his third game as a Brave, Atlason set the single-game freshman three-point record with six made three-pointers against Tarleton State (Nov. 14), beating out current Bradley MBB assistant coach Darrell Brown Jr (2016-2020) for the number one spot. Atlason's 2023-24 season concluded with him appearing in all 35 games for the Braves while making 19 starts. He averaged 4.6 PPG, 1.7 RPG, in roughly 20 minutes per game time last season concluding with him being named to the 2023-24 MVC All-Freshman Team. Atlason is the 8th Bradley Braves to be named to the All-Freshamn team under Brian Wardle.

PRIOR TO BRADLEY

Almar Atlason makes his way to Bradley as a 6-8 215lb true freshman forward from Iceland. Atlason is no stranger to the international scene of basketball, in 2021-22, Atlason played in the Iceland Subway league for KR Reykjabik putting up 4.2 PPG and 1.5 RPG in 22 league games. As an eighteen-year-old Atlason participated in the European Championships for Iceland and made headlines across the tournament averaging 17.9 PPG, 10.7 RPG, and 3.1 APG through seven tournament games. After his time playing in Iceland Atlason enrolled to Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita, Kansas where he played the whole of the 2022-23 season as a skilled multi-level scorer. He will join Bradley this upcoming summer with four years of eligibility remaining.
