Bobby Suarez joins the Bradley men’s basketball coaching staff for the upcoming 2025–26 season after spending the last four seasons with the Portland Pilots men’s basketball program, serving as associate head coach (2023–25) and assistant coach (2021–22).
While Suarez was part of the Portland program, the Pilots won 19 games during the 2021–22 season—the fourth-most since their transition to Division I in 1958.
Prior to his time at Portland, Suarez spent four years as an assistant coach at Eastern Washington, where the Eagles won the Big Sky regular-season championship in 2020 and the Big Sky tournament championship in 2021.
During his time with the Eagles, the program won 75 games and posted a 53–20 record in Big Sky play. In that span, Suarez helped develop three Big Sky MVPs: Tanner Groves (2021), Mason Peatling (2020), and Bogdan Bliznyuk (2018).
Before joining Legans and the Eagles, Suarez spent four seasons at Florida State on Leonard Hamilton's staff.
At Florida State, he served as an assistant video coordinator and assistant director of the Leonard Hamilton Basketball Team Camp. His responsibilities included creating team and individual video edits, assembling scouting and recruiting videos, and managing film exchange.
At the beginning of his career, Suarez was part of the Florida Gulf Coast men’s basketball program from 2009 to 2013, serving on Andy Enfield’s staff as a Director of Operations Intern.
In 2013, the FGCU Eagles made a memorable run to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, led by standout players such as Brett Comer (finished 24th all-time in career assists in the NCAA), Chase Fieler (FGCU’s all-time leader in rebounds, blocked shots, and field goals made), and Sherwood Brown (2013 All-America Honorable Mention and Atlantic Sun Player of the Year).
In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Suarez worked with Team USA in 2017 and the Dominican Republic National Team in 2015, assisting with on-court player development and day-to-day operations at both stops.
Suarez earned his bachelor's degree in business management from Florida Gulf Coast in 2012.
