Although the veteran member of Bradley's coaching staff as he enters his seventh year with the Braves, Kyle Vogt is beginning his first full season as an assistant coach. Vogt served as the program's Director of Operations from 2004 until moving into an assistant coach role midway through the 2009-10 campaign and chief among his new assignments, her serves as Bradley Basketball's recruiting coordinator.
In his first six seasons with the Braves, Vogt produced scouting reports, coordinated team travel, handled the film breakdown and film exchange and he was the coaching staff's liaison for marketing and promotions. In the latter role, he helped develop the growth in student attendance for Bradley's home games at Carver Arena and assisted with the two arena-wide "Red-Out" promotions that helped contribute to then-record crowds for the DePaul and Illinois State games in 2006-07, as well as the energetic environment for the "White-Out" promotion during Bradley's overtime victory versus Providence in the first round of the 2007 MasterCard NIT. In his fifth year at Bradley, Vogt added scheduling to his list of duties.
Vogt's work in his other areas of responsibility also has been a contributing factor in the program's success. Aided by his editing work and overall organization, Bradley produced four straight 21-win seasons for the first time in nearly 50 years and earned postseason victories in four straight seasons for the first time in program history.
Prior to joining the Bradley staff in 2004, Vogt was an assistant coach under Paul Combs the previous two seasons, in 2002-03 at Lakeland College and in 2003-04 at Wisconsin-Platteville. At Lakeland, Vogt helped the Muskies earn their second consecutive Lake Michigan Conference title, and in his one season at Wisconsin-Platteville, Vogt helped the Pioneers to a 16-12 record and a spot in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament championship game. Among his duties at Wisconsin-Platteville, Vogt was responsible for all film editing and breakdown, team travel and the implementation of individual workouts and the strength and conditioning program. He also assisted in recruiting and on-floor coaching for the Pioneers.
Vogt starred as a sharp-shooting guard at Lakeland College from 1998 through 2002. Twice ranked among the most-accurate 3-point shooters in NCAA Division III during his playing career, Vogt helped his team to the first of their two straight league titles as a team captain in 2002.
A native of Milwaukee, Wis., Vogt earned his bachelor's degree in marketing from Lakeland in 2002. He and his wife, Erin, reside in Peoria and are the proud parents of two-year-old son, Jackson.
