Biography

2024-25 | Freshman
Joining the Braves as a walk-on from nearby Morton High School, Rugaard appeared in four games during the 2024-25 season season accumulating five points and three rebounds. Rugaard scored his first points as a Braves in BU's Nov. 29th win over Judson where Rugaard hit BU's 22nd three-pointer of the game to break Bradley's single-game made three-pointers record, the same game in which he collected three rebounds in minutes of game action. 

PRIOR TO BRADLEY

Rugaard joins the 2024 Bradley Braves as a prefered walk-on. Rugaar is a product of the great central Illinois basketball scene as a 2024 graduate of Morton High School. While in playing for the Potters, Rugaard was named 2024 Mid Illini First team, 2023 Mid Illini second team, 2022 Mid Illini second team, Kiwanis all star game MVP, IBCA All State, Illinois media all state, TOC all tournament team, TOC grey ribbon MVP, Pekin Holiday tournament all tournament team 2022-2023, Pekin holiday tournament all tournament team 2023-2024, Peoria journal star all area team, and Pekin Holiday tournament Mr hustle. While helping the Potters to a 2024 Mid-Illini Conference Championship.

PERSONAL
Gus is the son of Joy and Nate Rugaard, he has siblings named Tucker, Paige, and Tripp. Gus's sister Paige is a former cheerleader for Belmont.
