On The Court
? Crouch enjoyed an impressive freshman season in 2004-05, averaging 8.3 points per game and leading the team with 46 3-point field goals (the second-most ever by a Bradley freshman).
? Enjoyed a breakout season as a junior last winter and enters his senior season this year sharing the distinction of being the top returning scorer (13.8 ppg) in the MVC with teammate Daniel Ruffin.
? Set the tone for the 2006-07 season by scoring 22 points and making 6-of-9 attempts from 3-point range in Bradley’s 78-58 season-opening win against DePaul.
? By making 83-of-166 (.500) 3-pointers last season, Crouch was the national co-leader (Josh Carter, Texas A&M) in 3-point field goal percentage, making him the fourth Bradley player to ever lead the nation in a statistical category.
? Set the school single-season record for 3-point field goal percentage and led The Valley by averaging 3.07 treys per game last year.
? Thanks to his bounce back season, Crouch has climbed to seventh on Bradley’s list for career 3-point field goals made with 144.
? Playing a heady floor game, Crouch also turned in a 1.6 assists-to-turnover ratio last season and ranked fifth in The Valley with 1.44 steals per game.
Off The Court
? Crouch is a James Bond aficionado and has collected all of the movies based on Ian Fleming’s British Secret Service agent. He says Sean Connery is the true James Bond and lists Oddjob and Goldfinger as his favorite series villains. Honey Ryder (Ursala Andress) is his favorite Bond girl, because “she was the first.”
? A die-hard St. Louis Cardinals fan, Crouch claims Ozzie Smith as his all-time favorite player, but qualified his choice by noting “#5” (Albert Pujols) likely will become his favorite.
? When asked what has been the biggest obstacle he has had to overcome prior to the 2006-07 season, Crouch listed a broken hip he suffered as a youth. Since providing that answer, however, Crouch has sustained two serious injuries on the court for the Braves: a right knee sprain Dec. 30 that forced him to miss eight games last year and a dislocated left shoulder during a spring individual workout session that forced him into rehab most of this offseason.
? Playing for his uncle, Joe Stoner, at Pekin, Crouch was on a team that featured four future NCAA Division I players: himself, Todd Peterson (Northern Illinois), Matt Hagen (Rice) and former Bradley teammate Kevin Jones.
? Crouch’s father, Larry, played basketball at Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla., and had the chance to play against Dick Versace’s Bradley team Dec. 15, 1979 in Robertson Memorial Fieldhouse. Bradley won that game, 78-68.
