Career Notes: A part-time starter as both a freshman and sophomore, DeBroux has emerged as one of the Braves top attackers and will be one of the top offensive threats again this fall ... She has ranked third on the team in kills in each of the last two seasons and enters the season as the Braves active career kills leader with 483 kills.

 

Junior Season (2005): Earned second-team All-Missouri Valley Conference honors after ranking third on the team in kills (244) and kills per game (2.03) ... Played in all 33 matches and made 28 starts ... Led all outside attackers with a .231 hitting percentage and averaged 1.32 digs per game ... Third on the squad with 19 aces and fourth with a 0.65 blocks per game average ... Averaged 2.23 kills per game in Missouri Valley Conference play ... Named to the all-tournament team at the Raddison Hotel Invitational after averaging 2.20 kills, 2.00 digs and hitting .348 ... Had eight outings with 10 or more kills and posted her first career double-double with 12 kills and 10 digs against Belmont ... Posted a season-high 15 kills at Northern Iowa and followed that with career highs of 16 digs and three aces at Western Illinois.

 

Sophomore Season (2004): Started 19 of the 24 matches she saw action in and was third on the team in kills (163) and kills per game (2.47) ... Owned a .256 hitting percentage, which was third on the team and tops among the Braves outside hitters ... Ranked third on the team in blocks per game (0.64), behind only to middle blockers Lindsay Stalzer and Amy McFarland ... Earned all-tournament honors at the Butler Invitational after hitting .384 and averaging 3.69 kills per game during tournament play ... Had a career high 21 kills against Western Illinois at the Butler Invitational, while hitting at a .556 clip ... Followed that with 20 kills against Butler ... Totalled 10 or more kills six times, including 12 kills in the season-ending four-game victory against Northern Iowa.

 

Freshman Season (2003): Ranked sixth on the team in kills after appearing in 18 matches ... Started seven matches on the season ... Started using a jump serve late in the season, serving up seven aces in the final 22 games she saw action in ... Had a season-best 10 kills at Marquette ... Slammed home eight kills and boasted a season-high .667 hitting percentage vs. Drake.

 

High School: DeBroux earned all-conference honors three times and earned four letters in volleyball at Byron High School ... Helped the Tigers to three consecutive conference and regional championships during her four-year career ... As a junior, Byron claimed a sectional title and advanced to the Elite Eight of the IHSA Class A State Tournament ... A two-time co-captain, DeBroux earned team co-MVP honors as a junior and was named the MVP and Most Inspirational player on the squad as a senior ... Named First Team All-Area by the

Telegraph Herald in Dixon, Ill., as a junior and senior, while also earning Player of the Year honors as a senior ... Was a special mention all-state selection by the Champaign News-Gazette as a senior ... Attended the same high school as long-time Bradley cross country/track head coach David Beauchem.

 

Club Competition: Played for Rockford Select ... Earned all-tournament honors at the Powerball Tournament in Dubuque, Iowa twice.

 

Personal: The daughter of David DeBroux and Jodi Reineking, Amber was born February 7, 1985 in Marinette, Wis. ... Majoring in marketing ... Earned a spot on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in each of the last five semesters.
