TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - For the second time this season, Bradley and Indiana State needed overtime to decide a crucial Missouri Valley Conference matchup. The Braves (13-13 overall, 8-8 MVC) overcame a 10-point halftime deficit, but could not complete the comeback as Indiana State (16-11 overall, 8-8 MVC) earned a 75-69 overtime victory at the Hulman Center Tuesday night.

Bradley built a 13-6 advantage early in the first half, but Indiana State countered with a 20-2 run to take an 11-point lead, 26-15. Four straight points from sophomore forward Taylor Brown (Atlanta, Ga./Dunwoody H.S.) cut the Indiana State lead to seven, 26-19, but the Sycamores extended their lead to 10 at halftime, 31-21.

A steal and dunk by junior guard Andrew Warren (Indianapolis, Ind./Brebeuf Jesuit Prep) capped a 5-0 Bradley run to start the second half. Senior center Sam Singh's (Ozark, Mo./Ozark H.S.) bucket with 7:30 remaining pulled the Braves within four, 45-41, while a 17-foot jumper by freshman guard Dyricus Simms-Edwards (Washington, Ill./Washington H.S.) made it a three-point game, 49-46, with 5:03 to play.

The Braves continued to chip away and finally regained the lead when junior guard Sam Maniscalco (Chicago, Ill./St. Patrick H.S.) buried a jumper with 1:52 to go, putting Bradley up by one, 55-54. After an Indiana State basket, Maniscalco hit another jumper with 1:18 remaining to reclaim the lead, 57-56. Brown answered an Aaron Carter layup with two free throws to keep the Bradley edge at one, 59-58, with 38 seconds remaining.

On Indiana State's next possession, Carter connected from long range to give the Sycamores a two-point lead, 61-59. A length of the court drive and layup by Maniscalco with 5.5 seconds to play tied the score at 61. Indiana State's Rashad Reed took the last shot of regulation, but his game-winning jumper fell short, sending the game into overtime.

Indiana State struck first in the extra period with two free throws to take a two-point lead, 63-61. Maniscalco knotted the score at 63 with two free throws, but Carl Richards connected from long range on Indiana State's next possession to put the Sycamores up by three, 66-63. Simms-Edwards answered Richards' three with a triple of his own to even things at 66 with 1:41 to play, while Warren drained a three to give the Braves a one-point edge, 69-68, with 1:02 remaining.

Carter hit another three with 40 seconds to play, putting Indiana State back up by two, 71-69. On Bradley's next possession, Simms-Edwards drove the baseline and put up a shot that hung on edge of the rim but did not fall. Indiana State grabbed the rebound, made four free throws and escaped with the 75-69 victory.

Four Braves finished in double figures, including Maniscalco (15 points), Brown (14 points), Simms-Edwards (14 points) and Warren (13 points). Brown pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds, while Maniscalco dished out a team-best five assists. Indiana State's Carter led all scorers with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting.

Bradley will take a one-game break from MVC play when it hosts Drexel Saturday, Feb. 20 in the annual BracketBuster series. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
