UPCOMING PROMOTIONS
Bradley Athletics is developing an extensive promotions schedule for the 2014-15 season and the first two promotions for Thursday's exhibition game versus Augustana and the Nov. 14 season-opener versus Texas-Arlington were announced Monday. The first 500 fans for Thursday's exhibition game will receive a MVC-TV Schedule static sticker and Bradley University's Delta Sigma Theta sorority Stomp Team will perform at halftime. The Nov. 14 season-opener will feature the debut of Bradley's new pyro effects for pregame introductions, as well as a halftime performance by Cosmic Colt.

THE STARTING FIVE

  1. Bradley is preparing for its 111th all-time men's basketball season and the Braves will play their only public exhibition of the preseason Thursday night by hosting an old rival, Augustana, at Carver Arena.
  2. Now a member of the NCAA Division III College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW), Augustana is a former league rival of the Braves as both teams were members of the now-defunct Illinois Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) from 1913-42.
  3. Thursday's game will be the Bradley's 79th all-time exhibition game and the Braves enter the game with a 63-15 (.808) all-time record in exhibition action, including a 25-2 (.926) mark against other collegiate programs.
  4. Thursday's game could mark the competitive Bradley debut for six Bradley newcomers: freshman F Josh Cunningham, junior G Warren Jones, junior G Jackson Kane, junior C Jermaine Morgan, junior F Mike Shaw and freshman F Donte Thomas.
  5. The Braves will be short-handed for Thursday's exhibition: senior forward Auston Barnes begins serving a 3-game suspension, which was announced last month; junior point guard Tramique Sutherland is expected to be sidelined until at least Nov. 20 with a hand injury; and junior guard Kendahl Amerson is expected to redshirt the 2014-15 season to fulfill new NCAA residency requirements.
