COOKEVILLE, TN - Designated hitter Derek Bangert hit a pair of go-ahead home runs, including a 2-run blast in the 11th inning, lifting Bradley (3-2) to a 7-5 win at Tennessee Tech (5-1) Saturday afternoon at Bush Stadium.

Sophomore LHP Cole Cook (2-0) pitched 2.1 scoreless innings to earn his second win in as many appearances and the Braves evened the series in advance of Sunday's 1 p.m. finale.

Bradley got off to a quick start as leadoff hitter Luke Shadid walked and scored on Luke Mangieri's 1-out triple.  Mangieri then came home on an Ian Kristan 2-out single for a 2-0 lead in the first.  The Braves pushed the lead to 3-0 in the second after Andrew Ivelia drew another leadoff walk.  This time, Shadid came through with a 2-out, RBI single.

Sophomore LHP Ben Olson left the game with a 4-3 lead after Bangert hit his first home run of the game in the seventh inning.  All three runs Olson allowed were unearned.  He scattered four hits and walked two with four strikeouts in his 6.0 innings.

Another leadoff walk, this time to Mangieri in the eighth, helped Bradley extend its lead to 5-3 when Kristan delivered a 1-out, RBI double.

The Golden Eagles refused to back down, however, and touched reliever Nathan Stong for two runs on four singles in the ninth inning to forge a 5-5 tie.  Cook entered with runners on the corners and two outs in the ninth and sent the game to extra innings by getting an infield pop out and he worked around a 1-out double in the 10th.

Bradley once again benefitted from a free base to open an inning when Ivelia was hit by a pitch to start the 11th and Bangert followed one out later with his third home run of the year.

A day after the Golden Eagles launched six home runs, Tennessee Tech brought the tying run to the plate with no outs after a leadoff single in the bottom of the 11th, but Cook retired the next three hitters to end Bradley's first extra-innings game of the season.

Shadid paced Bradley's 10-hit attack by going 3-for-5, while Mangieri (double and triple), Kristan and Bangert all finished 2-for-5.

Senior RHP Eric Scheuermann is scheduled to start Sunday's series finale.
