Braves Track Set for Illinois Twilight

The Bradley track and field teams are back in action on Saturday, competing at the Illinois Twilight on the campus of the University of Illinois.

MEET SCHEDULE
The Illinois Twilight begins at 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. The Braves are slated to feature competitors in the 800m, 1,500m, 5,000m and 3,000m steeplechase on the women's, while the BU men will contend for the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1,500m, 5,000m and 3,000m steeplechase titles.

LAST TIME OUT
A pair of Braves set program records during a west-coast trip in California. On Thursday at the Mt. SAC Relays, senior Patrick Campbell posted the fastest time by a Brave in the 10,000m run with a mark of 29:26.07, surpassing the previous BU standard by more than 33 seconds. Junior Daniel Gagne followed with a Bradley record in the 1,500m run on Friday at the Bryan Clay Invitational. The junior posted the top time in the MVC this season with a mark of 3:43.08 to top the previous school mark by more than a second.

LAST YEAR AT ILLINOIS
Lauren Cunningham claimed the title in the 3,000m run, while Kathryn Adelman and Hannah Witczak also posted career-best times in the 800m and 5,000m runs, respectively.

BRAVES IN THE MVC RANKINGS
With just two weeks remaining in regular season before Bradley heads to the Missouri Valley Conference Championship, a number of Braves find themselves in the top five of the conference rankings. BU ranks in the top five 18 times so far, with four Braves – Patrick Campbell, Daniel Gagne, Jake Hoffert and Hannah Witczak – ranking in the top five of two different events.

UP NEXT
The Braves wrap up the regular season next weekend with a pair of meets. Bradley is set to compete at the Drake Relays from Thursday to Saturday, while also running at the Crusader Open on the campus of Valparaiso on Saturday.
