PEORIA, IL - The summer collegiate baseball scene has completely fired up around the country and thirteen members of the Bradley Baseball program have extended their seasons in several wood-bat leagues.

Rising senior Derek Bangert has reached base safely in 17 consecutive games for the Northwoods League Kenosha Kingfish and, highlighted by a 4-RBI game Saturday in a 9-6 win at Kenosha, he has driven in more than twice as many runs as any other Kenosha player. Bangert begins the week fourth in the Northwoods League with 19 RBI's.

Playing for the Paducah Chiefs in the Ohio Valley League, rising junior infielder Christian Dominguez has drawn a league-high 15 walks in his first 11 games and he is tied for fourth in the league with 14 runs scored.

Batting .286 in eight games for the Licking County Settlers in the Great Lakes Collegiate League, rising senior Andrew Ivelia has driven in a run in each of the last three games. Fellow Brave, rising sophomore Luke Shadid, did not play in the two weekend games for Licking County, despite hitting safely in each of his first six games for the Settlers. Shadid is batting .333 and has either scored or a run or driven in a run in five of his first six games.

Rising junior Luke Mangieri enjoyed a big weekend for the Fon du Lac Dock Spiders during a 2-games-to-1 Northwoods League series win against Lakeshore Chinooks. Mangieri was 5-for-13 (.385) with a double, a triple and six RBI's during the series. For the season, Mangieri now ranks third on his team with 11 RBI's in his 14 games. Mangieri's Bradley and Fon du Lac teammate, rising junior pitcher Matthew Richey worked 5.0 scoreless innings spanning two relief appearances last week for the Dock Spiders.

Rising junior outfielder Andy Shadid got off to a hot start in the prestigious Cape Cod Basebal League by going 4-for-8 with a double and a RBI in his first two games last week with the Wareham Gatemen
