WINTER HAVEN, FL -
Bradley wrapped up its spring break trip to Florida by banging out 12 hits to support a strong collective pitching effort en route to a 6-3 win against Massachusetts Saturday afternoon at Chain of Lakes Park.

Five different Braves collected two hits, led by Andrew Ivelia, who doubled twice and scored three runs, and Derek Bangert, who drove in three runs.

On the mound, junior RHP Sam Lund (3-0) remained undefeated by scattering four hits and allowing two runs, one earned, in his 5.0 innings.  Relievers Matthew Richey, Brian Schrimmer and Brooks Gosswein each contributed one scoreless innings, before the Minutemen scratched across one run in the ninth off Boby Johnson.

The Braves jumped out to an early, 2-0 lead in the first inning when Luke Mangieri drew a 1-out walk, Ivelial followed with a double and Bangert drove them both in with a 2-run single.  Bradley pushed its lead to 5-0 by plating three, 2-out runs in the second.  After reaching on a fielder's choice, Luke Shadid stole second and scored on Mangieri's single to right.  Ivelia then reached on an error in right field and Bangert and Brendan Dougherty both followed with RBI singles.

The lead grew to 6-0 in the fourth when Ivelia led off the inning with his fourth double in the 2-game series against UMass and scored on Dougherty's 1-out single through the box.

Bradley played seven games in nine days in Florida and the Braves have started the year 11-5 overall, despite all 16 games being played away from home.  The Braves are scheduled to open their 2018 home schedule Wednesday by hosting Chicago State in a 6 p.m. game at Dozer Park.  Wednesday's game will be one of five games Bradley will not charge admission this spring, although tickets for access to the Dozer Park suites are $12 each.
