NASHVILLE, TN – Dan Bolt hit his first career home run to get the scoring started, while Luke Mangieri and Brendan Dougherty both reached base safely four times as Bradley completed a weekend sweep at Belmont (3-8) with a 7-2 victory Sunday afternoon at E.S. Rose Park.

The Braves (8-1) now have won eight straight games for the first time since a 10-game streak April 22-May 12, 2007.

Bolt launched a 2-run home run just over the right field wall in the second inning to spot the Braves a 2-0 lead.  Andy Shadid added a RBI double in the fourth, Andrew Ivelia a run-scoring double in the fifth and Eli Rawlinson a RBI single in the sixth to stretch Bradley's lead to 5-0.

After Belmont pulled one run back in the bottom of the sixth, the Braves came back with two more runs in the seventh on Brendan Dougherty's RBI single and Rawlinson's bases loaded walk.

Junior RHP Brian Schrimmer (1-0) continued the perfect start to his Bradley career, earning his first career win out of the bullpen.  Schrimmer retired all six batters he faced, four by strikeout, over the sixth, seventh and eighth innings and he has yet to allow a base hit in his 6.0 innings of scoreless relief to date this season.

Mangieri finished 3-for-4 with a walk, while Dougherty was 2-for-3 with two walks, two runs scored and a RBI in his five plate appearances.  Shadid also stayed hot, finishing 2-for-4 with a double, walk and RBI.

While Bradley's bats banged out 11 hits Sunday, the five Braves hurlers combined on a 4-hitter.  Starter Sam Lund allowed just two hits, but surrendered four walks to force his early exit.  While Brooks Gosswein ran into trouble in the sixth by allowing a run on a hit by pitch, balk, base hit and two walks, Schrimmer put out the fire by getting out of a bases-loaded, 2-outs jam by inducing a fly out.  He then struck out the side in the seventh and retired the first two batters he faced in the eighth, before turning things over to Ryan Hodgett.

Bradley will return to action by starting its spring break trip to Florida with a 3-game weekend series at Jacksonville.  The series is slated to begin with a 6 p.m. ET start Friday at Jacksonville's John Sessions Stadium.
