EVANSVILLE, IN – Bradley completed its first Missouri Valley Conference series sweep since the final series of the 2016 season in emphatic fashion, pounding out an abbreviated, 14-3 win against Evansville (6-23, 0-6 MVC) Sunday afternoon at Braun Stadium.

While improving to 8-0 in weekend finales this season, the Braves (20-9, 7-2 MVC) also matched their final 2017 win total (20-31), surpassed their 2017 MVC win total (6-14), secured their 17th win away from home this season and cruised to their first road 10-run rule victory since a 13-2 win in seven innings at Illinois State April 20, 2012.

All nine Bradley hitters reached base safely at least once Sunday and eight of the nine reached at least twice.  Luke Mangieri led the way by going 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and a hit by pitch in his five plate appearances, while Andy Shadid's 3-for-5 performance included both a double and a triple in an 8-run seventh inning that broke the game open.

While the Braves were slugging their way to 14 hits, the Bradley pitching combo of Sam Lund (4-1) and Matthew Richey limited Evansville to three runs on six hits.  Lund again excelled in his role as series finale starter, allowing only one run on four hits with no walks and two strikeouts in his 5.0 innings.

Bradley, which has won 10 of its last 14, will play its next five games against non-conference opposition before resuming its league schedule against MVC power Missouri State April 27-28 at Dozer Park.  Having played 25 of their first 29 games away from home, the Braves will return to action Wednesday by hosting Western Illinois in a 6 p.m. game at Dozer Park.
