The 2021 Kaboom! Awards, presented by RE/MAX Traders Unlimited and supported by PNC, continue by highlighting the historic 2020-21 Bradley Women's Basketball campaign that culminated in the first NCAA Tournament appearance in program history.

Making the team's first postseason appearance in nearly a decade (2011-12), the Braves claimed their first Missouri Valley Conference Tournament title to earn the team's first NCAA Tournament berth after a fourth-place league finish during the regular season.

Posting a 17-12 overall mark and 10-8 Valley record, Bradley has combined for 72 wins over the last four years to tie the most wins in a four-year stretch in program history.  In addition, the Braves have won 39 MVC contests over that same span for the most conference wins in a four-year period.  The fourth-place finish also marked the third consecutive year Bradley finished in the top half of the league standings, something the Braves had not accomplished dating back to the final three years of Head Coach Andrea Gorski's days as a student-athlete for the Braves from 1989-90 through 1991-92.

The first three-time First-Team All-MVC pick in program history, senior Gabi Haack was one of 30 national candidates for the Senior CLASS Award and was also selected as the MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year.  She went on to take home MVC Tournament Most Outstanding Player honors after averaging 21.0 points per game and shooting 42 percent from three-point range during BU's MVC Tournament run that saw the Braves post a 78-70 victory over Drake in the title game.

Haack, who is the only player in MVC history to hit 60 or three-pointers in four different seasons, also took home the MVC's Dr. Charlotte West Scholar-Athlete Award in 2020-21.  She ranked second in the MVC in scoring at 16.5 points per game this past season along with ranking sixth in rebounding, while her conference-best 77 made three-pointers was 11th nationally.  She finished the year second in career scoring at Bradley in addition to ranking second in MVC history in career three-pointers and was BU's first CoSIDA Academic All-District V selection in over a decade.

The 2020-21 season was also highlighted by the first road win at Drake since 2009-10 along with the first series sweep of Southern Illinois dating back to the 2012-13 campaign.

The 2021 Kaboom! Awards, presented by RE/MAX Traders Unlimited and supported by PNC, continue this afternoon with a spotlight on the 2021 Bradley Softball season.
