Peoria, IL. The Bradley Braves took care of business with another statement win in Carver Arena, this time against Valparaiso.
Game Recap
Oh how sweet it is! Bradley now owns sixteen straight wins at Carver Arena and a 10-game win streak over valley opponents in their home venue. The Braves didn't take long to shake off some road rust against Murray State as they came out of the gates firing on all cylinders with a 16-4 scoring run over the game's first six minutes. In a game that featured two of the best front courts the MVC has to offer, neither disappointed as both showed out for their teams. Ben Krikke of Valpo was the steady rock as always chipping in 17 points, and 7 rebounds on 6-10 shooting. Meanwhile,
Rienk Mast and
Malevy Leons led the way for BU with a combined 36 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists with zero turnovers. The name of the game for BU was how well they shared the ball. Bradley finished the contest with 23 assists and 9 turnovers which is by one of their best performances this season. Bradley's win gives them 16 consecutive and ties the school 9th longest streak in school history with the previous 16 game streak coming from 1965-1966. The Braves also established did a great job of controlling the game down low with 32 points in the paint and 30 rebounds. While the BU starters did a great job of getting in a rhythm, credit has also be given to the BU bench who once again put in 32 points from
Ville Tahvanainen (9 points),
Ja'Shon Henry (11 points),
Darius Hannah (10 points), and
Ahmet Jonovic (2 points, first of his career). Bradley earns its fourth MVC win of the season to keep within striking distance of first place while the Beacons drop to 0-6.
