During Breanna Kinney’s time at Bradley University, she has completed clinical rotations on many different floors including orthopedics, cardiology, emergency department, pediatrics, and labor & delivery, to name a few. She completed over 600 clinical hours on-site at the hospital and spent additional time in Bradley’s state-of-the-art skill lab practicing skills and running through simulations. The summers of 2022 and 2023, she spent in Monmouth Maine at a sleepaway summer camp working as a student nurse in their health center. Here she has discovered her love of pediatric nursing which drove her career aspirations. She spent this past summer participating in OSF’s 10-week externship on their Pediatric Hematology/Oncology floor. Through this experience she was able to learn and observe so much, cementing her desire to work in pediatrics post-graduation. She currently works as a patient care technician on the general pediatrics floor at OSF St. Francis. After graduation she plans to work as a pediatric nurse and then go back to school to get her master’s degree, and hopefully her doctorate.
