North Little Rock, AR. Bradley falls to 7-4 on the season after dropping a neutral site affair with the #10 Arkansas Razorbacks 57-76.
Game Recap
Bradley and Arkansas met for the first time in school history earlier this afternoon. Bradley was looking to extend it's 4-game winning streak while the Razorbacks where looking to keep their momentum with one nonconference game left before heading to SEC play against the LSU Tigers. Bradley and Arkansas would start off a highly entertaining contest by going bucket for bucket with
Duke Deen,
Connor Hickman and
Ja'Shon Henry all chipping for the early 7-6 lead for the Braves. However, Arkansas would wake up after the under 8-minute media timeout. Nick Smith Jr, who has battled injuries so far this season sparked an 11-0 Razorback run feeding off multiple BU turnovers. As both teams went blow for blow through the remainder of the first half the half, Bradley couldn't claw any closer than 12 and ended the first half trailing 37-25. Bradley ended the first half with 16 turnovers, by far the most so far this season for BU but did shoot 47% from the field and 83% from the free throw line. As the second half got under way it was apparent early that it would be a similar story to the first half. The Braves got off to another hot start but the turnover bug continued to stick around. Arkansas would once again run off another 9-0 run and increased their lead up to 18. The Razorback defense was on full display turning Bradley over 20 times in the game and converted them into 37 points. As a result BU would see the lead grow to a game high 24 points. While many teams may have throw in the towel, Bradley fought back and nearly got the deficit back to 15 but ultimately ran out of time down the stretch with a final score of 57-76.Â
